Finding ways to reduce farm emissions starts with understanding where they come from. That’s where FarmAhead™ Check comes in. It collects more than 200 data points per farm – from what the cows eat to the energy used on the farm. The submitted data is validated by third-party advisors and helps farmer owners understand their farm’s carbon footprint.* Aggregated data also provides insights across seven Northern European countries and supports knowledge-sharing with farmer owners, researchers, policymakers and industry partners.
What is FarmAhead™ Technology?
Dairy products contribute to nutrient intake, and their production is associated with greenhouse gas emissions, which we are working to reduce. We aim to produce dairy products with consistent quality across the value chain, including on farm, in animal care and in land management. To support this, we have developed FarmAhead™ Technology, a set of data-driven and science-based tools that enable farmer owners to measure and monitor farm practices and identify relevant actions. Using these tools, farmers can be rewarded by implementing activities included in the model. The level of payment is linked to the number of eligible activities implemented and the points achieved*.
