From Student Assistant to Full Time Employee
My name is Christian, and I joined Arla Foods as a Student Assistant in January 2019. I would to share my experience with Arla and how I started as a student assistant in Aarhus and landed up with a job in Dubai.
As a student at university I thought that joining a big international company like Arla Foods would be a great place to learn and get a broad experience while finishing my studies. But never had I imagined all the learnings, support, and opportunities I have been offered since I joined!
From day one I've been surrounded by great and talented colleagues. I have had the opportunity to talk to so many people who are excellent in what they do and I have always experienced that people are willing to help, passionate about sharing knowledge and answering all the curios questions that I have (and trust me… I have a lot of those…).
I started my time in Arla at our headquarters in Aarhus. Due to studies I then moved to Copenhagen and had the opportunity to keep my student job working from our International office in Copenhagen.
I’ve always wanted to go abroad and get international experience and as part of my study programme I had the opportunity to do an internship. So I thought, why not see if I can make this happen with Arla?
I got the unique chance to join Arla Foods’ Middle East and North Africa (MENA) market working from our regional office in Dubai. Again, this opportunity exceeded my expectations and I'm extremely thankful for this opportunity!
Writing this I’m currently back in Denmark, but not for long…!
I’ve been offered a permanent fulltime position in Dubai and this means new fantastic opportunities to learn and develop. So, I'll soon pack my bags and start a new Arla adventure.
