From Dairy Delights to Technological Marvels: A Graduate Road Trip

As an Arla Production Management Graduate, I recently had the incredible opportunity to embark on a memorable journey with fellow graduates from different countries and Arla sites. Two weeks ago, we set out on an exciting road trip, which took us from Arla's dairy production in Upahl to the Anuga Food Tech exhibition in Cologne. The experience was not only insightful in terms of our professional development, but it also emphasized the power of connection and the joy of coming together as a global Arla family.

Upahl Dairy Experience: A Taste of Excellence

Our first stop was the Arla dairy in Upahl, where we were warmly welcomed by Kira, a fellow graduate, and the site director, Harry Veldman. The site tour was an eye-opening experience, allowing us to witness the precision and dedication that goes into producing Arla's exceptional dairy products. From the state-of-the-art facilities with loads of pipes and stainless steel, to the meticulous QEHS awareness and engagement, it was evident that excellence is at the core of Arla Upahl´s operation and made our PMG hearts pound faster.

One of the highlights of the visit was undoubtedly the opportunity to sample Arla's renowned Skyr. We also had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious lunch. It was a true feast for the senses, and it further solidified our appreciation for Arla's commitment to quality and innovation.

Exploring Food Technology Innovations at Anuga Food Tech

Continuing our journey, we made our way to Cologne, where the Anuga Food Tech exhibition awaited us. This global platform showcases the latest advancements in food production technology, and we were eager to explore the cutting-edge innovations on display. From automated production lines to sustainable packaging solutions or detectable pens, we witnessed firsthand how technology is shaping the future of the food industry.

Camaraderie, Cuisine, and Cultural Exchange

While our primary focus was on professional development, we also found time to embrace the joy of connection and camaraderie. The road trip provided us with the perfect opportunity to get to know our fellow graduates on a deeper, personal level. We shared stories, laughter, and even ventured out for a traditional German dinner, complete with authentic Kölsch beer.

Grateful for the Arla Production Management Program

Reflecting on this exiting experience, I am immensely grateful to be a part of the Arla Production Management Program. This program not only provides exceptional professional development opportunities but also cultivates a sense of friendship and adventure. The road trip was a testament to Arla's commitment to growing future leaders and fostering a truly global Arla family.
