On Tuesday, June 6 MD Foods and Arla will officially change name to Arla Foods. However, on Monday, May 22, the Danish team for Euro 2000, sponsored by Arla Foods, will begin sporting the group's new logo when training for the final round of the championships begins. On the same day, the players - wearing the new logo - can be viewed on Arla Foods' football website which has been revamped in preparation for the finals. Playoff for the finals in Holland and Belgium is on June 10 only four days after the official name change.
"The European Championships' final round is a unique chance to publicise the Arla Foods name and logo, not just in Denmark and Europe, but throughout the world," says Sponsor Manager Benny Eriksen.
It is expected that the 31 games in the finals will be watched by 1.2 million European spectators at the eight stadiums, while TV transmissions to 190 countries will attract an average of 225 million viewers per match. Only the Olympic Games and the World Cup claim higher viewing figures.
