The Saudi Government has announced that Saudi Arabia is ready to import Danish dairy products once again following the import ban dating back to mid-March. However, the ban on beef imports remains.
The move means that Arla Foods' products will reappear in Saudi stores within the next few weeks. However, owing to production and transport times, normal conditions are not expected to be resumed until after the summer holidays. As staff have been working on other production lines, the effect on manning levels has been limited. The workforce at Bislev and Akafa are expected to cope with production during the summer.
Arla Foods is an international dairy company owned by more than 8,400 farmers from Denmark, Sweden, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Arla Foods is one of the leading players in the international dairy arena with well-known brands like Arla®, Lurpak®, Puck® and Castello®. Arla Foods is focused on providing good dairy nourishment from sustainable farming and operations and is also the world's largest manufacturer of organic dairy products.
