Parents in the UK can now buy yoghurt specially developed for babies over 4 months old. The organic yoghurt, launched under the Harmonie brand, contains yoghurt and fruit puré in equal quantities.
"We developed this product because the organic baby food market is the most successful in the UK. In fact, 20 per cent of all baby food sold is organic," says Laurent Ponty, Project Manager, Organic Products, MD's UK Division. "Yoghurt for babies, therefore, will be one of our key products and the fact that there is no added sugar will also appeal to parents. Since the yoghurt contains twice as much fruit as ordinary yoghurt, it tastes so sweet that breast-fed babies should have no difficulties adjusting to its flavour."
The new UK yoghurt will be produced by Brabrand Dairy.
