Cheeses from Arla Foods were exhibited this week at Russia’s oldest and largest food exhibition, Prodexpo, in Moscow, which attracts food industry professionals as well as consumers.

“The purpose of Arla Foods’ stand is not only to demonstrate our interest in the Russian market to Russian consumers, but also to market the cheeses direct to Russian consumers,” says Irina Karlström, Export Manager, Overseas Division. Visitors will be offered samples from a range of cheeses.
“As there is no tradition in Russia for sampling cheese prior to purchase, the reactions from consumers and customers to our samples has been very positive” explains Irina Karlström. While the Swedish Arla has participated in Prodexpo for the past three years, this is the first time for Danish cheese to be on display. During the spring, a range of Danish and Swedish cheeses will be selected for the Russian market with firm cheese from Sweden supplemented by emmental, mould cheese and feta from Denmark. With the new and broader range, Arla Foods will have a much stronger presence in the market, says Irina Karlström.

Arla Foods is an international dairy company owned by more than 8,400 farmers from Denmark, Sweden, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Arla Foods is one of the leading players in the international dairy arena with well-known brands like Arla®, Lurpak®, Puck® and Castello®. Arla Foods is focused on providing good dairy nourishment from sustainable farming and operations and is also the world's largest manufacturer of organic dairy products.
