Following several years of rising sales, Arla Foods Ingredients has formed a sales subsidiary in Korea. The new company will replace the existing arrangement where sales of ingredients were handled by a local agent. The former agent, however, continues as an investor in the new company.
A Danish expatriate has been seconded to the Korean operation since 1997 to support sales of increasingly advanced ingredients. The formation of the new Korean company will enhance ties to local customers thus raising Arla Foods’ profile in Korea.
Arla Foods Ingredients supplies a range of added value ingredients to Korea’s dietetic industry as well as functional milk proteins to the yoghurt industry. The company also intends to move into the promising market for bakery products, snacks and ice-cream.
Arla Foods is an international dairy company owned by more than 8,400 farmers from Denmark, Sweden, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Arla Foods is one of the leading players in the international dairy arena with well-known brands like Arla®, Lurpak®, Puck® and Castello®. Arla Foods is focused on providing good dairy nourishment from sustainable farming and operations and is also the world's largest manufacturer of organic dairy products.
