The German Minister of Agriculture Renate Künast today visited Arla
Foods at Anuga under great interest from the international press.

Organic was the keyword when the German Minister of Agriculture Renate Künast today visited Arla Foods’ at the world’s largest food fair Anuga, which opened in Cologne this morning.
Among more than 6,000 exhibiting companies at the fair the Minister visited 18 companies from 18 different countries, among the few selected was Arla Foods.
During her visit at Arla Foods’ stand Renate Künast showed greatest interest in the organic part of Arla Foods’ activities, which is one of four themes that Arla Foods is presenting on this years Anuga.
Managing Director in Europe Division Torben Olsen, who showed the German Minister around at Arla Foods' stand said:"The Minister was surprised that Arla Foods' production of organic milk was bigger than the total German production of organic milk. She was also impressed by how many different organic products Arla Foods can provide, when she saw our exhibition of organic dairy range”.
The Minister tasted organic cheese
During the visit, the German Minister tasted three different organic cheeses from Arla Foods: Riberhus (traditional Danish semihard cheese), danish blue and feta.
"Delicious", said the Minister, who is familiar with Scandinavian dairy products and especially the fermented ones, which are among the Minister's favourites.
The Minister also showed great interest in the new Danish lowfat-milk Minimilk with a fat-content of only 0,5 percent, which recently was marketed in Denmark and has quickly established itself.
Replaced the Chancellor
Renate Künast accepted an invitation on behalf of the German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, who had opened the Anuga fair early Saturday, but had to leave the fair shortly afterwards in stead of visiting a number of the exhibitors, among those Arla Foods, as planned.
"We got the message this morning that the Chancellor could not visit the exibitors due to a very important meeting and that the Minister of Agriculture Renate Künast, would come instead", says Anuga's Press Officer Christine Hackmann.
