Arla Foods’ new UK cold store in Stourton, Leeds is expected to be commissioned in May. With its 30 ramps, the new store will meet a long-standing need for extra capacity. The need has become even more pressing following the joint venture with New Zealand’s Fonterra for the packing and distribution of Fonterra’s products.
The new store will primarily function as a distribution centre for Danish and Swedish products although it will also handle some UK-sourced products. Located near two major motorways, the store offers easy access to other parts of Britain.
Arla Foods is an international dairy company owned by more than 8,400 farmers from Denmark, Sweden, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Arla Foods is one of the leading players in the international dairy arena with well-known brands like Arla®, Lurpak®, Puck® and Castello®.
