Rynkeby Foods and JO Bolaget sign partnership agreement

Rynkeby Foods A/S and the Swedish JO Bolaget have combined their development, purchasing and marketing activities for the juice business with effect from February 1. The two companies will continue to operate under their existing names but under a joint management team.

Jørgen Dirksen, currently Managing Director of Rynkeby will become Managing Director of both companies with his counterpart in JO Bolaget, Leif Armstrong,
as Deputy Managing Director. Leif Armstrong will join the management team of Rynkeby Foods A/S taking responsibility for purchasing, product and brand issues.

Together the two companies will become the Nordic area’s largest juice producer with a market share of approximately 60%. The intention is to further strengthen the two businesses’ positions in Denmark and Sweden and, at a later stage, to expand across the Nordic countries.

"There is increasing interest in healthy, fruit-based drinks and consumers continue to demand new flavours and packaging.” explains Jørgen Dirksen. ”The new set-up opens up opportunities for product development and investments in new technology. This will enable us to keep abreast of consumer requirements and meet demand across the entire Nordic market.”

Rynkeby Foods is wholly owned by Arla Foods, which also has a 50% stake in JO Bolaget. The Swedish dairy company, Skånemejerier, holds the remaining 50%. Rynkeby Foods and JO Bolaget’s annual turnover totals DKK 800 million each.
