The stars of Denmark’s national soccer team have received a bonus of DKK 1.2 million for qualifying for next summer’s European Championships in Portugal from the team’s main sponsor, Arla Foods.
The team won its qualifying round by 15 points ahead of Norway and Rumania which both finished with 14 points.
The bonus, which is part of Arla Foods’ sponsorship contract with the national team and goes directly to the players, was presented in Manchester on Saturday, a day before Denmark’s 3-2 victory over England, a revenge for the Danish defeat
against England in the World Cup quarter finals.
“We’re delighted at the team’s advance to the European Championships and wish the players the best of luck,” said Arla Foods’ Sponsorhip Manager Benny Eriksen.
