Fast response to fire in Branderup

Only rapid action from staff and firemen prevented a roof fire from causing extensive damage to Branderup Dairy last week.
A team of roofers was laying roofing felt around a new ventilation vent when the heat caused the insulation to catch fire. However, a concerted effort from staff and local firemen enabled the fire to be extinguished within an hour.
A total of 10m² roof was destroyed and the dairy lost some of its cheese production for the day. Production, however, was re-established within five hours. The fire is believed to have cost the dairy between DKK 1 and 3 million.
