Joint venture approved by the EU

Arla Foods’ joint venture with Germany’s second largest sugar manufacturer, Nordzucker, has been approved by the EU’s competition authorities.
The approval means that the joint venture, SweetGredients, will become responsible for the production of the new functional sweetener, Gaio tagatose, currently used in Diet Pepsi Slurpee in the US.
Arla Foods and Nordzucker each hold a 50% stake in SweetGredients.
