The high profile Danish soft cheese brand, Buko, to be promoted in Sweden.
Since the arrival of the first variety, processed cheese with shrimps, in the Danish market back in 1932, Buko has been highly popular in Danish house- holds.
Now it’s the turn of the Swedes to get to know names like Gul Pikant, Grøn Pikant and Pikante Urter.
To date, Buko has only been available in Sweden in small portion packs. The new launch, however, will comprise the cream cheese and fresh cheese lines with three varieties in each pack.
”After the launch of the cream cheese and fresh cheese, we’ll follow up with a new line containing sun-dried tomatoes in May in both Denmark and Sweden,” explains Product Manager Morten Hansen, Denmark Division.
Later on, the aim is to launch the new Buko varieties in the other Nordic countries.
Whereas Norwegian consumers are already familiar with some Buko varieties, the Finns have yet to benefit from the famous brand.
This, however, will be addressed from 2005 onwards.
